Day 14 - Paris
After our lunch at Polidor, we took the metro to Champ-Élysées where we spend the hot sunny afternoon browsing through the shops here.
We stop by at Laduree for our afternoon tea. Laduree is an institution here in Paris, famous for its macarons and pastry.
We were lucky to get the last available table at the outdoor terrace.
After browsing through the menu, we settled for 3 pastry, Religeuse Pistache, Vendome and a selection of macarons.
|Religeuse Pistache, cream puff pastry with pistachio custard cream|
|Vendome, dark chocolate biscuit, blackberry confit, chocolate and blackberry tea mousse|
The whole place was packed with customers for afternoon tea.
The long queue outside Laduree.
The final bill, Eur46.60 for an expensive afternoon tea.
The pastry at Laduree is quite good too and the long queue here testify to its popularity. Laduree may be famous but personally we prefer the pastry at Angelina and the macaroons from Pierre Hermes than Laduree itself. Anyway this is our personal preferences and i am sure other may enjoy their Laduree experience.
